An integral part of the Magura Group’s work ethic has been its recognition of the need to protect and preserve the environment which is crucial to human survival. With this sentiment in mind the Magura Recycled Paper Industries Ltd(MRPI) has been set up.

This project exclusively focuses on recycling waste paper by converting it into usable fibers. Located in New Town, Meghnagath, Sonargaon, Narayanganj this unique endeavor contributes to the preservation of environment by saving many trees which would otherwise have been cut down to make paper and thereby reducing deforestation.

The other positive consequence of this project is that it has created employment for hundreds of unemployed poor people. Street children and destitute adults collect the waste paper from garbage dumps and then sell them to the recycling company and thus are able to earn a living. The waste paper is then processed through a highly advanced recycling system that produces paper which can be used for a variety of purposes.
